Oh really?

(you thought I said Pornographic! I know it!)
Fox Reports:

“Last week, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry said global sales of digital music generated revenues of US$1.1 billion (euro911 million) for record companies last year, almost triple the 2004 figure, with single-song downloads making up most of the sales.”

Now, I am no economist - of course - nor am I a stats major, but this makes me feel like digital music is actually very profitable for the recording industry, regardless of pirating… Not condoning pirating, just saying: people were not up in arms when tapes were being dubbed.

If they really want to stop people from stealing it’s simple. Put all music on cartridges (like old Atari games; create a device that plays music on cartridges. Done. Then folks will have to literally SHARE music like they did Contra!

Oh, wait, then people would just make rom’s of them… and we are back at square one. *Sigh*
